      • Nexus3 utilizes the latest version of Ultimaker Cura.  Cura is an advanced open-source slicing engine that integrates seamlessly with Ultimaker S5 FDM printers.  It has recommended printing profiles for a large range of materials and allows us to customize over 400 different settings for more granular control.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

  • Our Technology

    • Nexus3 currently has the capability to manufacture parts using Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology.  FFF printers utilize heated nozzles to extrude molten plastic across a cross section of a 3D part, building it layer by layer.

    • Ultimaker S5

      • The Ultimaker S5 is a large volume, dual extrusion FFF machine that reliably delivers industrial-grade parts.  It includes active bed leveling technology to ensure a perfect first layer and glass doors to control airflow and reduce warping. 

      • The dual extrusion technology allows for two materials to be used in a single run.  Typically, the first nozzle is used for the part material and the second for support material that can either be broken away easily after printing is completed or dissolved in water.  However, the two nozzles can also be used to print parts in two colors.

        • Large build volume: 303 x 240 x 300 mm (13 x 9.4 x 11.8 inches)

        • Heated build plate

        • Down to 20 micron (0.001 inch) layer resolution

        • XYZ resolution of 6.9, 6.9, 2.5 micron

        • Open filament system – print with any 2.85 mm material

        • Compatible with high-strength glass and carbon fiber filament

    • Ultimaker S5 Pro

      • The Ultimaker S5 Pro includes the capabilities of a standard S5 but also includes an automatic material handler with humidity control and an air manager with filter to help maintain the environmental temperature inside the build chamber.  The material handler allows for up to six filament spools to be loaded at the same time, speeding up setup times and reducing delays when running out of filament.  When a spool is empty, the material handler will automatically switch to another spool containing the same material.  This makes it a great choice for multiple runs or large builds.

Materials

  • Ultimaker Marketplace/Material Alliance

    • The combination of Ultimaker S5 printers and Cura software allows for a large selection of advanced polymers and composites.  The Ultimaker Marketplace is comprised of filaments that have proven Cura print profiles, guaranteeing print success every time.  If a material is not listed in the Ultimaker Marketplace, the S5 printer has an open filament system that will allow for any 2.85mm filament to be used.  Just let us know what material you need and we will evaluate it!
