Additive Manufacturing 3D Printing

3d printing

At Nexus3, we offer FDM and MSLA 3D printing services to help our clients bring their ideas to life. Our team is experienced in working with a variety of thermoplastics and photopolymer resins, so we can help you choose the right material for your project. We also offer post-processing services such as sanding, painting, and finishing to ensure your final product looks great.  If you don't see a material that you are interested in using, contact us and we will review the request!

FDM 3D Printing

FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers work by heating and extruding thermoplastic filament through a small nozzle, which is moved in a precise manner to lay down layers of material and build up a 3D object. As each layer is laid down, the build platform is lowered slightly to make room for the next layer. The process is repeated until the entire object is built up.

FDM printing is a great choice for a number of reasons:

  • Versatility: FDM printers can print with a wide variety of thermoplastic materials, which allows for a wide range of applications

  • Strong and Durable Parts: FDM printed parts are strong and durable and they can withstand high temperatures, making them suitable for functional parts and end-use applications

  • High Accuracy: FDM printed parts have a general tolerance range of +/-0.50mm (0.20"), which can be improved with additional calibration

  • Cost-Effective: FDM is often a more cost-effective option than traditional manufacturing to make low-volume prototypes and tooling

  • Large Build Volume: FDM printers are capable of printing large objects or multiple parts at once

MSLA 3D Printing

MSLA (Masked Stereolithography) printers use an LCD screen matched with a powerful LED light source to selectively cure resin layer by layer.  After solidifying a layer, the build platform moves to allow another layer of resin to be cured.  This repeats until the 3D object is completed.

MSLA printing is a great choice for a number of reasons:

  • High Resolution: MSLA printed parts can print at layer heights between 0.01 - 0.15mm and a resolution down to 35 microns

  • High Accuracy: MSLA uses a UV light source to cure resin, which allows for a high level of control over the final shape of the part

  • Fast Production: Large-format MSLA machines can be used to manufacture small-scale production runs in a fraction of the time an FDM printer would take

Materials:

  • Siraya Tech Blu - Tough Resin

  • Siraya Tech Fast ABS-Like Resin

  • Anycubic Plant-Based Resin
